Hello, Gorgeous!
I’ve been thinking about breaking up with my (double) shower head for a while now. The Afina Filtered Shower Head finally cemented my decision. Here’s why.
Afina Filtered Shower Head
If you live in an area with hard water, you already know that it can irritate your skin or exacerbate existing skin conditions. Afina offers a different concept in shower heads. And I found this particular shower head intriguing since it was founded by Brooklinen’s first employee and the man behind the Shark Tank sensation Genius Litter, Founders Justin Silver and Ramon van Meer. So you know they already have a pedigree for creating fabulous consumer friendly products. But back to the Afina.
Not only does it offer a rain shower like experience, it also (claims to) reduce blemishes, prevent dandruff, and thicken hair follicles (though that last one seems like a real stretch to me).
I may earn a small commission from sales made using the links in this post.
Why Afina is amazing
The design is super sleek and you can choose a nickel finish, or chrome or matte black. Afina does not look like a specialty shower head, more like a spa shower. It also is easy to install. The box comes with an adjustable wrench and even plumber’s tape if needed! The five-minute install guide walks you through the entire process.
The Afina filter has something called proprietary KDF-55 filtration that removes chlorine, chemicals and other impurities from your water. If you have a moment check out the video where water with high chlorine concentration is filtered through the showerhead.
My favorite part? While the water was softer, the water intensity was super strong!
I’ll be honest. Even though this is lab tested, I was a little bit doubtful when I saw the before and after acne pics posted with the shower head. But I did notice that after using it myself, my skin was less dry and my hair was shinier.
One giant caveat, you’ll have to keep replacing your filters (every 90 days) to keep the great results. ($129, Amazon. You’ll have to choose a plan for replacement filters which cost extra).
Do you have a shower head that you love? Would you consider one if you had to keep replacing the filter? Let’s discuss in the comment section!
