A Serum for Congested and Blemish-Prone Skin
Vitabrid C12 Vitamin C Serum really is irritation-free
Hello Gorgeous!
I’m often asked for product recommendations for dry or aging skin still prone to acne. My best advice is to talk to a dermatologist since they can prescribe products while I can only make recommendations. That said, here’s one that was a very pleasant surprise.
Like most of you, I am a multifaceted woman – and so is my face. While some of my skin can be dry, my nose seems perpetually stuck in puberty.
I have tried pretty much every scrub, mask, peel and treatment possible, and still, my nose is shiny and prone to blackheads. Granted, no one but me seems to notice the aforementioned blackheads, but they bother me nonetheless. It gets worse during colder months when my skincare routine includes more oil based or intensive serums and moisturizers.
I’m excited by the way Vitabrid C12 Vitamin C Soothing Serum works without drying my skin. Here’s what else I like about it.
Vitabrid C12 Vitamin C Soothing Serum could be the T-Zone solution you’ve been seeking
It’s a soothing serum. Believe it or not, despite testing out zillions of products and gadgets on my face, I have hyper-sensitive skin. I can usually tell by fragrance alone if something will bother my skin. True to it’s claims and despite being vitamin C based, Vitabrid C12 Vitamin C Soothing Serum really did soothe even as it reduced the look of oiliness.
It hydrated while drying. Anyone with an extra oily nose or T-Zone can attest to how frustrating it is to try to dry skin out without ending up a patchy and peeling mess. This serum somehow managed to soothe and hydrate my skin while tackling shininess.
I didn’t have any remaining redness. I was pretty shocked that my nose didn’t turn bright red even after I washed off the serum.
An interesting ingredient list. By now I’m sure you know that I’m a fiend for finding out what goes into making us more beautiful. Here’s one worth noting. Madecassoside which soothes and calms irritated skin is a component of the better known Centella asiatica AKA cica or Tiger Grass. It works best when paired with vitamin C. The hero ingredient in this serum is Vitabrid CG which seems to be a proprietary variation of vitamin C. The claim is that it’s a “scientifically advanced vitamin C” and that it “delivers vitamin C for 12 hours, promoting collagen production while providing skin brightening benefit.” For the purposes of this review, that seems perfectly accurate. In all, I really liked using Vitabrid C12 Vitamin C Soothing Serum for a quick refresh for my nose and random breakouts.
You should know. You might not like the fact that you have to blend an included soothing powder with the serum for maximum effect. The soothing powder comes in a slightly clumsy bit of packaging, so I did end up making a slight mess.
Users of Drunk Elephant C-Firma Fresh Day Serum and other potent vitamin C-based serums are already familiar with having to mix powder into your active serum. Interestingly enough, I never had great results with the Drunk Elephant serum which changed color on me and ended up irritating my skin.
Have you tried a specific serum for just your T-Zone? What about mixing together powders with your vitamin C products? Let’s discuss in the comments!
