Hello, Gorgeous!
This has been a hectic week, so the roundup will be speedy.
Have you used the Yuka app? It’s free to download and use, with only a slight charge for upgrades. The independent app allows you to scan products and presents you with a quick analysis and grade on just how healthy your food and cosmetics are. There’s also a watchlist of ingredients to avoid which is incredibly helpful, while it tells you if products contain endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, allergens or irritants. Definitely download and use this one.
Yuka gave Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Dark Spot Serum a 100/100 or Excellent rating. I can see why. This product claims to be 62x more efficient than Vitamin C and gently fades the look of sun damage. If you’re expecting your spots to disappear overnight, expect to be disappointed. If you’re ready to commit a few weeks to a gentle fading - you’re really going to love this one. ($119, on Amazon).
Another Yuka top rated item is Evereden Golden Body Serum. It’s clean. It’s vegan. It’s an oil you can use all over your body to massage into scars or stretch marks. ($32, Amazon).
So, everyone’s favorite oatmeal based brand Aveeno recently launched Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Cream. I really wanted to love it. After all, it’s Aveeno, it’s fragrance free, comes in a generous 15 oz. container and promises to keep all the skin on your body hydrated and strengthened for up to 48 hours. The problem for me was the texture. There was this slightly sticky feeling that never seemed to fade. In all though, it’s hard not to love it as a backup to your daily body moisturizer or for when you need an extra moisture infusion. (About $18 at Target).
And finally, it’s Halloween next week. While you stock up on treats for the neighbor’s kids, you should probably also treat yourself to this ridiculously cute (and sinfully delicious) collection of cupcakes. Monster Mash by Baked by Melissa is a limited edition collection of mini bloodshot cupcakes, green goblin and other spooky and delish flavors ($37, for 25 cupcakes in stores and at BakedbyMelissa.com).
So, what are your plans for the weekend; Cupcakes or sun damage fading? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
