Hello, Gorgeous!
First up, a bit of housekeeping. Drum roll please. The winner of the Darbie Angell 12-Piece Blush Rising Up Dinnerware Set giveaway (announced here) is Sandy M. from the beautiful state of New Jersey. We hope she’ll invite us all to dinner sometime soon!
Let’s move on to discuss banishing the other wrinkles. Not the ones on your face, but the ones on your clothing.
Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus is my new bestie
While I’m meticulous about the way that I dress, very slightly wrinkled clothing doesn’t bother me…much. It’s hard to explain. I find ironing to be a very Zen pursuit, but I loathe the idea of ironing every single thing that I wear. So my interest was definitely piqued when I spotted Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus at Target while shopping last week. I bought it and used it and love it.
I may earn a small commission from sales made using the links in this post. (Probably not, since I’m kinda lazy about chasing down affiliate programs).
It actually works. I generously spritzed some on a variety of clothing including wool pants, a denim skirt, and a cotton sweater. While I’m not going to say that the wrinkles vanished, they did all but disappear. The wrinkles that stayed were very faded.
It’s great for travel. I had a bit of business travel recently and brought a travel size bottle with me. I hung up my (power) jacket the night before, but it still had a few visible creases that bothered me. I spritzed some Downy Wrinkle Releaser Plus on my jacket, gently tugged the creased spots and then hung it on the shower rod while I showered. And the wrinkles mostly diappeared. Again, I say mostly since I still spotted a few wrinkles, but I’m guessing the creases weren’t visible to anyone else but me.
It smells fabulous. Not too strong. Not too overpowering, but rather a soft scent that fades slightly as the product dries. This makes it another great option for when you’re traveling and want to freshen up your limited wardrobe.
In all, I can’t think of any negatives about this one. I didn’t notice any staining or residual stickiness. Did I mention the fact that it even helps with static? And if you have really deeply wrinkled clothing, you can use it as an ironing aid. I paid about $10 for a 33.8 fl oz bottle, but I’ve seen really varied prices. You can check out the different size bottles and random deals on Amazon. I just checked and there are 45,511 reviews on Amazon with a A for reliable reviews. Clearly I’m very late to the Downy party.
Have you tried this or other clothing wrinkle release products? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
