Hello Gorgeous!
I’m at that delightful post-summer early fall time when my skin looks a bit tired after all the endless sunning and funning. I’m not ready for my heavy duty winter moisturizer, but my summer skincare routine is no longer cutting it. This makes it the perfect time to try Biodance collagen mask, the viral skin sensation all the TikTok girls are chattering about.
I don’t write about invasive procedures
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it here but I’m not someone who opts for invasive treatments. So it’s unlikely that I’ll ever write about brow lifts or face lifts or blepharoplasty (unless you want me to, lmk in the comments) and it’s even more unlikely that I’ll ever write about them from personal experience. What I do seek out though are products with impact, or ones that are worth at least trying out.
Does the Biodance collagen mask live up to the hype?
I think Biodance collagen mask is worth trying out. Here’s why.
It gives you a quick hydration boost. While the mask is made to be used overnight (yes, really), I tried it out when I woke up way too early this morning. The way the mask is formulated it is meant to be on the skin for a slightly extended period of time (average about 4-6 hours or overnight). Don’t expect long-term benefits though. While your skin might have a softening boost, it’s not meant to last.
It has the right ingredients delivered in a concentrated manner. Unlike regular sheet masks which have a shorter term impact, the longer you use the Biodance mask, the better the effect. And the ingredient list reads like a who’s who of softening ingredients: hyaluronic acid and hydrolyzed collagen, and then a lesser known ingredient called there is galactomyces ferment filtrate which is meant to tackle your skin texture. Niacinamide helps brighten and soften the look of enlarged pores.
It dries after a while. If you’ve read the reports about this mask or watched the videos, you’ve probably seen lots of women put the mask on at the beginning of a long flight and then peel off a dried version hours later. It does go on almost pearlized white and dries after about two hours. Interestingly enough, it doesn’t leech your skin of moisture as it dries.
It goes on in two pieces. You can watch the video on the Biodance website. It goes on thicker and very gloopy and then dries clear. And unlike some other masks, it actually fits around your mouth and eyes without having to adjust the mask.
Pro tip: You can use the small sections of the mask that pop out (over the eyes or mouth) on other sections of your face or body. For instance if you have old scarring, you can place one of these sections on top of the scar for as long as you keep the mask on.
So, is it worth it?
Biodance collagen masks are worth it, as long as you’re not expecting miracles.
I think this might be a product that works wonders on younger skin — maybe 30 and under- but less so if you’re 40+. That said, it’s not much of a splurge for a nice softening effect.
I bought four masks for $16.50 on Amazon. The price fluctuates. Right now they only seem to have the more bulk size available of 16 masks for $62.00 which works out to less than $4.00 each. Or if you have a girls’ weekend or are really committed to the trend, you can stock up at Costco where they have a 24-pack for $72.99. They’re great for travel, but I wouldn’t advise using them on the flight. I’d wait til I was settled comfortably in my hotel room and then put on a mask and relax.
What do you think? Have you tried these collagen masks out? Amazing or eh?Let us know in the comments!
