Hello, Gorgeous!
While the weather outside isn’t quite frightful, it is colder and windier. Which means my hair is blowing into my (perfectly made up) mouth and my scarf is constantly getting caught in my lip gloss. Adding to the seasonal merriment, my lippie gets smeared all over my face. Oh, joy!
I tend to update my lip routine for colder weather and that involves a more intense lip liner base with lip balm on top. Make Up Forever Artist Color Pencil Longwear Lip Liner is my fave of the moment. Here’s why.
Make Up Forever Artist Color Pencil Longwear Lip Liner
Neutral reinvented. I love experimenting with darker lip looks for fall. The neutrals in this collection are creamy and well pigmented, but not orangey like so many neutrals.
You can use these pencils anywhere. Well, on most of your face. The product claims state that these are multi-use matte pencils that can be used on cheeks, lip line, eyes and brows. The eyes part comes with a caveat since some clearly state that they should not be used on your eyes. I’ll issue another caveat. It’s far too easy to transfer germs from one part of your face to another. While you can theoretically use these pencils everywhere, I’d caution to limit each pencil to one part of your face, or sharpen between uses so you’re not transferring random cooties everywhere.
It’s been favorited over 781.2k times on Sephora.com. While I’m generally suspicious of too many rave reviews, this pencil is on everyone’s wish list. Interestingly enough though, there are only 844 reviews so far.
Here’s what I love about Make Up Forever Artist Color Pencil Longwear Lip Liner
It’s creamy. When’s the last time you tried a lip liner that was deliciously creamy but still lasts?
It’s long lasting. Back to the creamy part. Unlike most long-lasting products, it doesn’t dry out your lips but stays soft and beautiful.
It comes in a wooden casing. Unlike my beloved Sephora retractable rouge gel lip liners, you know exactly how much you have at any given time. Need a sharper edge? Simply sharpen and you’re good to go.
There are enough colors to make things interesting. With eleven shades (so far), you can line your lips with a single color or play around with tone on tone for a bolder look.
My two favorite shades right now are Up & Down Tan and Wherever Walnut. Both are nudes with a bit of depth, so they add color to your lips without looking overwhelming. And the color lasts for hours. I add a bit of lip balm on top to seal in the look.
