Hello, Gorgeous!
Earlier this week we turned the clocks back for daylight savings time. As the nights get ever longer it feels like a great time (for so many reasons) to figure out how to add more light to our lives. That could be something as simple as remembering self-care or calling an old friend for a catch up.
Or you can indulge a bit. Of course I highly recommend this option.
Cute+Comfy PJs
Don’t feel like getting out of bed this weekend? I don’t blame you. And with la Vie en Rose lounge wear you really don’t have to. This Made in Canada brand is like a kinder, gentler, comfier Victoria’s Secret with everything from sexy lingerie to amazing kimonos. My favorite product in the line is this fantastic Rose Print Recycled Fibers Kimono. Sizing is generous, and the fabric is adorable with tiny roses sprinkled throughout. You can pair with matching shorts, pants and a cami for a pulled together look. I love this kimono since it’s short enough to wear in bed on chilly nights, and stylish enough to wear down to the kitchen for breakfast— even if your in-laws are visiting.
thisworks Deep Sleep Bath Soak: Restorative Bath Salts
Relieve stress and tension while soaking in the tub? Yes, please! This magnesium-enriched soak helps with aches and pains and also improves the look of the skin on your (sexy!) bod. While the container seems relatively small for a bath product, you don’t need much for maximum results. I should add that I’m a huge fan of so many products from this cruelty-free and vegan brand. ($33, Amazon).
An extensive scalp spa
If you prefer your hair care products to be invigorating, you should probably check this one out. Eufora has a fantastic gift set (but you should buy it for yourself) called The Sunday Reset that includes a detox shampoo, a revitalizing treament, triple bond repair, and a nourishing treatment oil. What’s great about the set is that it removes product build up without stripping and then gets your hair back to looking shiny and bouncy. (Quick, which 80s or 90s shampoo ads promised “bouncing and behaving hair?). (About $100 for the kit at eufora.net)
A different type of light therapy
A few years back it felt like everyone was using a SAD lamp to up their sunshine intake during winter months. I find myself intrigued with this lamp that works overnight instead of during the day.
Helight Red Light Sleep Device is designed to improve sleep quality, boost energy, and enhance brain function. While I haven’t tested it out, it has a tempting premise. I’m a bit on the fence though since I keep the bedroom as dark as possible with blackout curtains and a host of white noise/sound machines. I feel like the red light might prove distracting. I’ll probably try it out at some point and will report back to you ($139, Amazon).
Tears for Fears
Have a listen to their newest album. It’s depressing in a life-affirming sort of way, or maybe it’s life-affirming in a depressing sort of way. Which on some days is the best we can hope for!
What do you have planned for the weekend? Fun times ahead or significant duvet time? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
