Hello Gorgeous!
I had so many high hopes and fitness goals when the summer began. I was going to get back into biking and yoga in a big way and remind my thighs and booty who was boss. Moving right along.
If you’re looking for a bit of help with toning your own tush, you might love Foreo’s new microcurrent device designed to tackle cellulite and random lumps and bumps FOREO Bear 2 Body. I do.
A quick primer on microcurrents
Microcurrent technology uses electric currents of varied strength to stimulate cell renewal. Depending on the strength and settings these currents can actually break down surface fat deposits. As you might expect, a dermatologist or aesthetician will use technology that’s a bit more intense than versions you might use at home.
In July, Swedish brand Foreo released Bear 2 Body, as a companion to their wildly popular (dare I say, viral?) microcurrent devices Bear and Bear 2 (not to be confused with this Bear).
What is the Foreo Bear 2 Body Advanced Microcurrent Body Sculpting Machine?
Well, the extensive name and description pretty much says it all. Foreo Bear 2 Body is similar to the Body 2 made for face but it has 4 microcurrent conductor areas instead of 2. It also fits very comfortably into your palm and has five massage patterns and uses 60 uA of microcurrent to tone the muscles in your bod. To break it down in easier to understand language, it’s strong enough to zap the lumps and bumps in your thighs, calves, tummy and tush, and anywhere you need a lift.
How does it work?
The Foreo Bear 2 Body is a pretty intuitive product. Charge, choose a setting or use the app to decide everything from your treatment to intensity.
Here are a few more tips:
Charge fully. First up, I’d recommend charging your Foreo Bear 2 Body fully. It can take a while to charge, but there’s nothing as frustrating as doing a treatment on one side and then having the battery die before you can get to the other.
Download the app, which has preset treatments and the correct amount of time for each part of your body. One caveat though, there seem to be all kinds of intriguing settings that you can only access with a paid subscription.
I love the fact that the Bear 2 Body uses lymphatic drainage to target fluid in your body. In easier to understand language, it massages out the fluid that might make you look puffy. Here’s an interesting thing I noticed with my own treatments. I could literally feel the fluid leaving my system and had to race to the ladies room about an hour after using the device.
It actually makes your skin look better. I don’t wear short shorts, but I did notice that the skin on my thighs looked silkier and smoother. I’m not quite sure whether that was a result of the treatment or the firming body serum.
Microcurrents on your tush; what could go wrong?
If you’ve never tried a microcurrent device before, I cannot caution you strongly enough that you absolutely must use a conductive layer which helps the product glide over your skin while avoiding random painful zaps of electricity.
Foreo recommends their proprietary Supercharged Firming Body Serum. I recommend it too - at least until you’re entirely comfortable with the idea of using microcurrents on your body. There’s definitely a learning curve. And while it’s definitely pricey ($64.95 on the Foreo website), I’d also advise not cheaping out on application. I was trying different application techniques and zapped myself a few times after not applying product evenly.
You should know
Foreo products include an anti-shock system which adjusts your microcurrent treatment to your body and skin.
Bottom line
I love this device.
Since I test a bazillion products a year, I’m not using the Foreo Bear 2 Body as consistently as I would like. I did notice an almost immediate difference in my skin, with my thighs and calves looking more toned almost immediately and more so after a few treatments.
Bear 2 Body costs about $299.00. It isn’t cheap, but if you really think you’ll use it and that you’ll be vigilant about only using along with a conductor serum, I’d say to give it a try.
Very important: this device is made for use on your body. Do not use on your face or neck. There are targeted devices for those parts of your body.
BUT WAIT…IT WORKS ON YOUR UPPER ARMS TOO.
And I think that’s all some of us needed to know.
Are you a fan of microcurrent devices? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Very interesting! I have the Solawave wand, but have fallen off using it consistently. I'm not sure if it really did much (though I used it with my serums not theirs), but looking to invest in light therapy masks! Any you recommend???
