Hello, Gorgeous!
And hellllloooooo, Friday! I’ve missed you. As we get ready for the weekend, here are a few updated things you probably already use daily.
It’s a Mood
If you’re trying to take a tech break but still want your co-workers or significant other to know what’s on your mind, you’ll love this. The Daily Mood doesn’t require a social media account. Simply choose one of 47 possible options. Flip to Neglected if you require some cuddles or Focused if you really need everyone to stay out of your way for a while. Or maybe forever. ($12, GenuineFred.com).
Highly portable wipes
Whether you have travel plans this weekend or will be out running errands, Pact wipes are an excellent option for staying clean while on the go. They are highly compressed and made of 100% woven plant-based materials. They’re also free of harmful chemicals often found in toilet paper and conventional wipes, including plastics, fragrances, chlorine, alcohol, and other nasty chemicals, making them kinder to your body and the environment. ($20 for 100 on Amazon.com).
I may earn a small commission from sales made using the links in this post. (Probably not, since I’m kinda lazy about chasing down affiliate programs).
A stunning sparkler
I worked in the diamond industry for half a decade, and looking at beautiful jewelry never got old. I have long been a fan of great, big, sparkly, oval-shaped diamonds. Keyzar jewelry creates trendy jewelry with a twist. Their lab-grown diamonds are set in genuine gold in the color of your choice. Or maybe you’re more of a platinum person. All I know is that even though I’m a (conflict-free) diamond purist, I’m still lusting after this Eliza Bezel set 2-carat ring. (This ring is about $2,420; use code VALENTINES at checkout between now and Valentine’s Day for 20% off pretty much everything).
Snail mail. Literally.
If you find yourself overwhelmed by email, take some time to write to a friend. This Snail Mail flat stationery by Noteworthy Paper & Press includes eight flat note cards and Kraft envelopes. It’s a low-key way to add a smile to someone’s day. ($20, noteworthystore.com).
May the floss be with you
I was going to save some of these flossing products for Valentine’s Day, but I feel like perking up your smile is always a great idea.
First up, Slate Electric Flosser. This cool new 3-in-1 tool was invented by a dentist. But back to Slate. Unlike regular floss, it targets all areas of the mouth to eliminate bacteria and stimulate the gums. The floss is nontoxic and made without Teflon or any dubious chemicals. You can replace the floss heads weekly for the best possible cleaning experience. Slate uses sonic vibration technology, which could be a bit intense if you’re prone to vertigo. There’s also a triple-row tongue scraper to eliminate the gross bacteria hanging out in your mouth. You probably only want to buy this for someone you know well, or they might think you’re hinting that they have bad breath! ($119, Amazon.com).
If you’re not into gadgets, you might prefer Cocolab Great Gums Brush, which is considered a floss supplement (I did not make that up). While these are generally used with braces or implants, it’s also a way to clean between teeth with larger spaces. Unlike other interdental brushes, I’m pretty sure that this one can be rinsed and reused a couple of times but don’t hold me to it. ($14 for a 25-pack on Amazon.com)
Makeup brushes with antibacterial bristles
Morphe reimagined their makeup brushes. They’re still incredibly affordable; they also now repel cooties. That doesn’t mean you never have to wash them. You don’t have to panic if you forget to clean them as frequently. (5-Piece Face Brush Set is $30 on morphe.com).
Hear that sound? That’s me heading out for the weekend. Do you have any plans for the weekend or are you just going to veg out, floss your teeth, admire your lab diamond ring while writing some snail mail cards to your pals? Let’s meet in the comment section and discuss!
