Hello, Gorgeous!
Though my family might say otherwise, I’m not really a fussy person. I don’t need the finest champagne to toast in the new year, I’m fine with hot chocolate. That said, on the rare occasions that I do imbibe, my tipple of choice is a champagne cocktail. There’s something about that fizzing sugar cube that always makes me smile.
As many of us emerge a bit bruised and a emotionally battered from an incredibly tough year, I think we don’t need great big overarching resolutions as much as small changes. For me those changes will involve tiny celebrations on a more consistent basis rather than based on calendar dates alone.

These are two ways to celebrate a moment every day:
Flavor-infused sugar cubes
Storied Goods makes exquisitely handcrafted, flavor-infused sugar cubes with flavors including orange-cherry, cinnamon-vanilla, and lemon-lavender. Worth noting, though there’s less than a teaspoon of sugar in each cube, so you can feel indulgent adding one to your coffee, cocktails or requisite champagne cocktail. And tea of course; These are incredible with a warm cuppa. Did I mention the fact that Storied Goods is a woman-founded brand and made in the U.S.? (One tin; $16 / Set of 3 tins; $42.45, https://storied-goods.com).
Loose leaf tea (to pair with Hanukkah foods!)
I don’t drink much coffee or tea, but when I do, I like to really indulge in the best possible. That includese specialty loose-leaf tea from Upton Tea Imports who put together an absolutely adorable pairing of tea with Hanukkah foods for readers of Hello Gorgeous!
In case you’re unfamiliar with Hanukkah (which I tend to spell Chanukah), it’s an eight-day celebration involving lots and lots of fried food. Sure it’s meant to commemorate a miracle involving olive oil meant to last a day lasting for eight days, but for most people it’s an excuse to indulge!
Try pairing tea with this yumminess:
Latkes are fried potato pancakes described as both rich and savory. The experts at Upton advise contrasting the richness with a sweeter green tea: Gyokuro Organic.
Sufganiyot (fried, sweet jelly donut) - contrast the sweetness with delicate white tea with subtle melon and spice flavors: Pai Mu Tan Supreme Organic.
And because no Jewish holiday is complete without kugel, which is often described as a pudding, though it can be made from anything from potatoes to noodles or broccoli. (creamy, heavy). Uptom experts advise contrasting the heaviness with a naturally sweet, but light herbal tea: South African Rooibos Superior Organic or the Baluson Estate Second Flush Darjeeling would provide a velvety balance of rich muscatel grape.
What’s your everyday indulgence? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
