These Shoes Were Made for Walking
Ryka Devotion X Walking Shoe is like walking on teeny tiny supportive mattresses for your feet
Hello Gorgeous!
When you grow up in and around in a heavily trafficked city like NYC, you learn to walk almost everywhere. (That’s probably why I make my not so funny joke about my sneakers being my car).
Read on for my new walking shoe obsession.
Why I love Ryka Women's Devotion X Walking Shoes (now with added 😍)
What can I say? I love me a pair of cloud-soft walking shoes. And I love nearly everything about Ryka Women's Devotion X Walking Shoes.
They’re made for women. If you’ve ever struggled with the odd fit of a pair of running shoes, it could be because they weren’t created with your feet in mind. Ryka creates all their shoes for a woman's unique foot shape. Heels are narrower, there’s a narrower heel, roomier toe, and softer cushioning. Believe it or not, that last part is my only gripe. These amazing shoes are a tiny bit too cushioned for walking on cement sidewalks.
Shock absorption. Let’s forget my cranky moment where I said these were too cushioned. Devotion X Max have the maximum amount of shock absorption possible, and you can feel it when you walk. They also provide (and I’m quoting here) “low deceleration, braking, and impact forces and have very high perceived cushioning by Heelux.” Notice the car analogies putting in an appearance here as well.
The colorways are so nice. I’m still marveling over the color names ( I actually have them in the color above, the divinely named, Abyss Blue) and subtle combos. Maybe it’s because they’re also stain resistant, but the colors are harmonious and will actually match your clothes. While I love my pink sneakers and my orange sneakers and still yearn for a neon pair, I love the low-key styling on these beauties.
There’s some sort of alchemy going on with the laces. The shoelaces seem to stretch without ever feeling too tight. Whatever it is, these are of the most comfortable laces I’ve felt on a pair of sneakers.
There’s room for socks. You’ll have the tiniest amount of extra wiggle room so you can comfortably wear even the floofiest socks you can find.
They’re award winning. Don’t take my word for it. The American Podiatric Medical Association awarded this fan favorite style their Seal of Acceptance.
At the time of posting this, Ryka Women's Devotion X Walking Shoes were on sale for $79.99, down from $109.99. I think these are a great pair of sneaks all around.
Do you prefer sneakers made for women or are you fine with unisex styling? LMK in the comments!

For some reason the system is not letting me respond to Julia's comment (below). I really love Ryka shoes. I'm not sure if I'd consider them the most sturdy, but they last really well. Dansko walking shoes have a bit of a stiffer sole to them, so might offer a bit more support. I also still really love Hoka, but these are definitely my favorite right now. I do love the almost stretchy feel of the entire shoe though. And good luck if you do it!
I love Ryka! Been wearing them for years. I'm going to order these RIGHT NOW.
