Hello, Gorgeous!
It’s that time of year when I feel like crawling back under the covers and popping back out in springtime. And just in case I do, I think I’ll turn it into a full sleep spa.
These are two products I’d use while I snooze.
Odacite Retinol Therapy Renewing Hand Cream
I should call this an ode to Odacite. I am seriously in love with this hand cream.
First, let’s discuss the packaging. It's an elegant push-to-dispense jar instead of a fiddly, messy tube.
Let’s move on to the ingredient list. This powerhouse hand treatment contains retinol and retinoid with Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA), Peptides, and Niacinamide. Plagued by raggedy cuticles, thinning skin, or age spots? Oh, wait until you try this hand cream. But wait! There are more A-list active ingredients, including
hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, oatmeal, and random botanical butters.
Interestingly enough, the clinical studies were on women between the ages of (gasp) 50 and 70. Imagine that. A skincare company that tests products for women of a certain age on older women of a certain age to be sure of the efficacy. Just wow. Seriously, 85% saw significant improvement in the appearance of brown spots after four weeks.
It smells sooo good. I know this one has tons of ingredients, but it has the vague scent of geranium. Interestingly enough, the geranium essential oil is used to calm nerves and is meant to support hormone imbalance caused by low estrogen.
I keep mine on the coffee table near the couch and put some on close to bedtime. It’s slightly tacky but is absorbed quickly. ($45, odacite.com).
I may earn a small commission from sales made using the links in this post. (Probably not, since I’m kinda lazy about chasing down affiliate programs).
This Works Deep Sleep Night Oil
While I initially didn’t love using oil on my body before bed, I’ll sometimes use it after a shower to lock in softness and get me in a bedtime state of mind. While this product isn’t on constant rotation, I love how it feels like a tiny spa escape every time I use it.
It’s non-greasy. I know. It’s oil; how is there no grease? It beats me, though it’s probably the grape seed oil. It also absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave you sliding all over the place (unless you have satin sheets, but that’s on you!).
It’s therapeutic. No. I can’t guarantee this for you, but something about the Provencal Lavender, patchouli, and vetivert scent combo lulls me to a more restful state.
It’s from a company that bases its skincare treatments on sleep. Seriously, This Works believes sleep is the first step to every skincare routine, and they create products that work with your body's clock 24 hours a day.
This one makes a cute Galentine’s Day gift for your sleep-deprived bestie. ($36, Amazon.com).
