In today's Wall Street Journal there's an article about the boon in cosmetic surgeries to deal with sagging skin after people lose a lot of weight with Ozempic or similar drugs. Everything is going under the knife: butt, arms, breasts, back, etc. We can never win, no matter what we do! But those gals that Rubens painted? Those are my new BFFs.
I'm so glad that we share besties! But, yeah. The push for cosmetic surgeries is strong underneath everything else. I wish I could tap inhistorically into any other era that had women (and men) so insecure that they opted for repeat surgeries to correct their believed imperfections. And I remember a bunch of years back when bariatric surgery first surfaced, the treatments and surgeries were also booming. What a life.
