Like some of you*, I am inexplicably fond of vacuum cleaners. I’m guessing it’s partially due to my many allergies. Vacuuming also gives me a tiny way to create order in my sometimes chaotic life. Whatever the reason for it, the people in my life accept my admittedly odd quirk.

My ex called me last night to catch up. While our conversation almost always flows —and he still makes me laugh like no other— we had a rare lull in conversation. “So,” he said after a beat, “Did you get any new vacuum cleaners lately?” Funny he should mention it, I did, and I think you’ll love it too!

Awful name aside, this tiny vac is fantastic.

My Microsoft Surface wireless ergonomic keyboard is on its last legs and looking decidedly gamey. Even with compressed air, I couldn’t reach the embedded dust. And so I decided that this little desktop vacuum was the only logical solution.

This Lilliputian vac has surprisingly strong suction. It’s like a tiny ant eater snacking on desktop dust and hair. It also works well on crumbs on the counter or table. I loved the dollhouse-size vacuum nozzle for getting into tight spots. It’s also ergonomic, so it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Did I actually need this vacuum cleaner? Probably not. Do you need this tiny vacuum cleaner? Nah. Not really. Am I delighted that I treated myself to it? Yes, yes, I am! You might love it too ($13.99, Amazon.com).
