Hello, Gorgeous!
Data and Insight group Spate recently shared data about the popularity of edible fragrances, with caramel perfume and matcha perfume being the most popular. While tasty fragrances were popular at the dawn of this century, now, we apparently want to eat them.
Some (Spate) stats about yummy scents:
Caramel perfume has grown +244.9 % compared to last year, with TikTok leading the way, holding 79.9% of the trend’s popularity
On Google Search, interest in caramel perfume has grown +181.1%, while TikTok engagement has increased +265.7% compared to last year.
While some consumers prefer pure caramel scents, others are drawn to fragrance blends like vanilla caramel, pistachio caramel, and salted caramel.
The most popular celeb scent right now
Then, we get to celebrity merchandising for our scent cravings.
Bucking the trend of celeb makeup lines, singer Sabrina Carpenter’s Sweet Tooth perfume is having a moment. Searches for Sweet Tooth Caramel Dream Perfume and Caramel Dream Perfume are also on the rise. While the packaging is clever, I can’t imagine wanting to smell like caramel (or espresso), but I’m clearly not the target demographic for any of these scents.
As for me, I prefer my scents to be subtle.
Soap or cotton scents
Right now, I’m crushing on W. Dressroom Perfume Pit a Pat Discovery Set (the link was a bit wonky when I tested it out. I’ll try to add it back in later). It’s a lovely mini perfume set with five long-lasting scents. I’m not sure why it’s a good thing that these are anti-bacterial, but I’ll take it. My two faves from this collection are April Cotton and White Soap, which smell like clean clothes or springtime, depending on your mood. They also have a Buy One, Get One Free promo so that you can treat yourself and your bestie. Another quick search tells me you can find many of these on Walmart of all places or about $15 each.
Are you at all into these foodie fragrances? And while we’re on the topic, do you stick to one scent or experiment? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!

I can't do the laundry smells anymore - went deep dive in my 20s on those clean linen & laundry candle scents & wore them out. Now it's just clean, fresh, but not cleaning scents - a difficult line. I'm now drawn to warm scents! Also feel like smelling like food is something I am not ready to revive from my teens lol 🙃
Don’t get the fascination with smelling like food. Hard pass.
